Think Tank

Tecmac-Watch expects dramatic changes in telecom world. It smells something new in the way Telecom policies in few countries have changed in last few months. Integration (open Integration) between prepaid mobile and IP signaling is something special to create a new twist in this industry.

Cisco’s efforts to push SS7 on IP and its continuous success is another thing to watch in next 1-2 years. A new group, which includes names like Intel, Ericsson etc, to promote power line Broadband, is another development to watch.

In a nutshell the new era of Telecom Drama has begun and consequences are yet to be predicted.
Such developments open a new challenge for OSS/BSS vendors. These cannot grow as isolated vendors, instead now these will have to take the responsibility for successful, efficient business model. Move for efficient, cutting edge products will always be appreciated and the fight for right product will be more visible instead of fight for market share. Right combination and right solution with quick return may generate higher satisfaction.

Operators need to watch on the developments very carefully. Primarily vendors drive technology move but some moves become difficult to digest for operators.

Consumers are always winner. They must be confident that each segment of the industry will fight to come with better, innovative and cost effective solution.

In this era of revolutionary change, be with us to

Headache Of The Year

Einstein invested his whole life in experiments, Edison lost himself in few components and Rishies spent their maximum time in search of GOD. We all enjoy the benefits extended by these  but most of us do not want to live like that. We’ve our own definition of life and few of us even criticize their way of loosing the so called pleasure of the materialistic world. Magic of this world is invent of those great minds as well as hearts still few of us laugh on them and their logic may be correct. This year we request you to think “What is that which makes few to spend whole life on something which takes them away from natural life?” What creates the difference between our ambitions, pleasures and imagination.

90cr.Come to India.....&..Get ............?

Want money, invest in India. The approach to encourage investment in telecom manufacturing is a right move in right direction with shallow commitment. We must agree that China exploited its purchasing power to generate local opportunities and help local industries.

There are plans to impose similar restrictions in Telecom India too, if not on all then at least on those who are suppliers of BSNL and MTNL. Yes, we should extract the value that lies in our purchasing power but is it not a late move?

A company having big manufacturing unit in China and Taiwan may hesitate to give equal opportunity to India. Due to business-generated compulsions, some may setup few units but those may be piggybacked on the drivers residing in China and Taiwan. We must have taken this move in last NTP itself.

Probably, our bureaucracy has habit of waking up late and this has made us to loss those opportunities which might have generated good local ZTE, Huwai like organizations.
Let us appreciate the move and hope it may get good response. If it is so then it will help new talents and new companies in Telecom Hardware segment. It’ll definitely make our local skills stronger and companies like ITI, Midas etc may get good opportunities to learn and perform.

Everything depends on

The new NTP proposals
Ability of Telecom India to exploit opportunities
Willingness of MNCs to transfer Quality work in India
