Think Tank

Dear Readers and home grown consultants, Tecmac-Watch is here again to give you some surprising stuffs.

Its surprising that in last edition, which was a New Year edition, we wrote about the India One plan of our communication ministry and government tried to launch the same service. When you look on the offer of BSNL and MTNL under India One policy then you may find that other operators were giving probably better offer through different product offering.

We try to write only those comments which we feel and smell and if we are able to do it in right way then probably there is no need for any million dollar black house analysis to extract something as good as our above mentioned story. We are thankful to those who have guts to express themselves and who have guts to smell the industry in which they work.

Tecmac.org always tried to put forward technical facts so that you may understand the industry in a better way. In this series we are writing about Local Loop Unbundling, well before it could be an hot issue in our country.

We request you to help us at each and every step so that we all could grow better. We are only and only if you are so be with us and let us Dream Undreamt”.

Headache Of The Year

Einstein invested his whole life in experiments, Edison lost himself in few components and Rishies spent their maximum time in search of GOD. We all enjoy the benefits extended by these  but most of us do not want to live like that. We’ve our own definition of life and few of us even criticize their way of loosing the so called pleasure of the materialistic world. Magic of this world is invent of those great minds as well as hearts still few of us laugh on them and their logic may be correct. This year we request you to think “What is that which makes few to spend whole life on something which takes them away from natural life?” What creates the difference between our ambitions, pleasures and imagination.

Day Dreams

Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) is the process where the incumbent operator makes its local network (the copper cables that run from customers premises to the telephone exchange) available to other companies. Operators are then able to upgrade individual lines using DSL technology to offer services such as always on high speed Internet access, direct to the customer  <<Click Here For Complete Article>

Carriers Want Money

We all were enjoying freedom of Internet, almost free ILD calls and black market of voice traffic emerged. Blak market was voice traffic was so big that we wrote a special article on same in Tecmac-Watch. Carriers are still facing the unplugged black voice fraud. Black voice market which is probably bigger than black trafficking, may be one of the biggest issue in Telecom industry to handle.

Carriers are moving towards a different type of oligopoly where they want small operators to them extra for better quality. They have valid reason too. Who’ll pay for extra capacity deployment? Who will pay for newer equipments? If we look in the past then we find that there were many carriers which went in Red due to excessive network expansion and comparable low return. Network expansion is essential but who should take the ownership, is now a hot question.

But there is a big threat, such kind of moves may take away the freedom of Internet. It may stop the growth of open economy and it may not be acceptable to few governments which consider US as a threat to their freedom.

There is a need for balanced approach. What should be the balanced approach? Let us spend sometime over it. Just Think because Tecmac asks you to think.
