Think Tank

A service launched in India receives good response in Australia, yes Tecmac thanks Australians for their high hits to Celset. Tecmac has changed its website with a consulting look. We were receiving regular suggestions for changes in website. Its good or bad, will be judged by response of our visitors. So please visit our new features and suggest for further improvement.

We had a dream of a consulting platform on which anyone looking for any help could contact to any expert sitting in unknown part of the mother earth but to reach there we need more time and resource.

Development in 3G scenario has started getting momentum, few handset vendors have already started marketing their product for 3G so that at the launch of service they may have an edge over others. As usual GSM, CDMA and operators are fighting with each other but interestingly this time finance department is also involved actively.

In this issue we are discussing Cable-TV in India. We have content on Wi-Fi and 3G licensing and a look on Celset. Hope you’ll find it informative.

To change the direction of wind, one needs courage, strength and intelligence. To run a company you need to have money, policy, employees and customers. To run a government one needs support, political edge and army. But to run Tecmac we need dream, courage and ambition. Do you have courage to  Dream Undreamt”.

Headache Of The Year

Einstein invested his whole life in experiments, Edison lost himself in few components and Rishies spent their maximum time in search of GOD. We all enjoy the benefits extended by these  but most of us do not want to live like that. We’ve our own definition of life and few of us even criticize their way of loosing the so called pleasure of the materialistic world. Magic of this world is invent of those great minds as well as hearts still few of us laugh on them and their logic may be correct. This year we request you to think “What is that which makes few to spend whole life on something which takes them away from natural life?” What creates the difference between our ambitions, pleasures and imagination.

Celset-A Project With Difference

IThe complete planning of celset is different than any present service and its bottom line is “Do that which other don’t”. Initial hits to the site are satisfactory but we understand that to bring regular visitors, we need to do much more. We need something like email but definitely not “email”. Celset and present approach to Tecmac is designed to generate our own IPR. We need information but we cannot buy therefore we need to create and it’s a channel to do so. Celset is there to benefit all. It’ll benefit to common mobile users as well as it will give us a moral support so any support to celset is support to us. Our project Celset 3.5 is under planning and will be up before the stipulated time. Definitely not for money, just for service, or the way Mr Linus(Inventor of Linux) wrote “Just For Fun”.

Wi-Fi More Knowledge

Day Dreams

WMM--Wi-Fi Multi Media is an enhancement to the MAC sublayer to add QoS functionality to Wi-Fi networks. WMM is an extension to the legacy CSMA/CA-based DCF(Distributed Coordination Function) mechanism that gives all devices the same priority and that is based on a best effort, listen-before-talk algorithm. Each client waits for a random backoff time, and then it transmits   <<Click Here For Complete Article>

1- The decision of B.K Modi to start new cellular business is fatal as its not the time to enter in cellular market for any immature or small player.

2-Cellular prices will come down by around 30% in this financial year, but it’ll have least effect on basic and local pricing.

3G-MoF Enters

MoF has issued guidelines to DoT for 3g-spectrum auction. It has strictly suggested to keep TRAI out in whole process, poor TRAI? In 3G triangle, three points are, government, regulator and operators. In operator there are two mindsets, one pro-Tatas and another pro-Bharti. Let us talk about the difference between Tata and Bharti.

Bharti says, there should not be any auction fee for 3G spectrums. Any fee will make service costlier and unaffordable. Mr Mittal is right, after all spectrum fee is cost overhead and the decision to go for 3G needs big heart, as nobody knows the future. But what about scarcity of frequency?

Tata says there should be fee to protect the spectrum. Perfectly right, if a non-eligible organization starts considering the spectrum as personal property (which happens with almost all government property, Rastra Ki Sampatti Hamari Sampatti) then where will the 3G go?

Now problem is this that MoF have already kept TRAI out so these two poles cannot pick ear of Mr Pradeep Baijal (which happened almost in all cases). Consultants have also got little to advise as Mr. regulator is not there to listen and MoF & DoT are famous for their own style. So what next?

We feel there must be one time spectrum fee. So Tata wins, no no. the worry of Bharti is correct, India can not afford a costly service. Therefore there should be some arrangement to nullify the spectrum fee. We propose that take the spectrum fee but instead of considering it as earning, divide it into some time bound rebate against the service usage. For example 5 years no revenue sharing with regulators. It’ll help everyone. Those operator which will have maximum subscriber, get maximum benefit so the basic purpose of government to increase service penetration also gets solved. Moreover spectrum will be well protected and usage will be committed, since no use means no rebate.

But the bottom line is—

Will MoF leave a Tax-free income of around 3000 Cr???
