BCCI may try to have its own satellite channel. Broadcast industry may come up with around 25 new channels in this year therefore we must expect huge investment in the industry in current financial year. ZEE, star and Sony all are targeting regional contents but our telecom industry is still away from localization. 

In this issue we are discussing growth in GSM market and role of small players. We are also making you to think something unusual i.e. innovation in some unusual way. We are also trying to explain few parameters on Wi-Fi. 

TRAI is expected to come out with some papers on 3G as Bharti and BSNL both are putting things at forefront. Such moves will definitely make other small players to think about aligning with big bosses but it is unlikely that any 3G implementations will affect these small but efficient players any way. Since its difficult to build the network but its extremely difficult to put any good and popular service over that. 

We also predict some conflicting decision from TRAI over VoIP as its time to have some policy in that direction too. So this year is going to be as critical and hectic as it was during WLL-M vs GSM war but we are confident that our regulators will do some magic this time as well. They have already fueled the discussion with some hint over 450Mhz band release for GSM. 

Let us keep our eyes and ears open so that we can smell and feel all happenings in our techno-commercial world. Are you ready to “Dream Undreamt”.

Headache Of The Year
Einstein invested his whole life in experiments, Edison lost himself in few components and Rishies spent their maximum time in search of GOD. We all enjoy the benefits extended by these  but most of us do not want to live like that. We’ve our own definition of life and few of us even criticize their way of loosing the so called pleasure of the materialistic world. Magic of this world is invent of those great minds as well as hearts still few of us laugh on them and their logic may be correct. This year we request you to think “What is that which makes few to spend whole life on something which takes them away from natural life?” What creates the difference between our ambitions, pleasures and imagination.

Small Step Towards New Horizon

In the second year of our existence we wish to move towards more mature and analytical future. After an in house analysis, we found that Tecmac achieved only 50% of what it wanted to achieve in the first year. This year we need to cover this debt as well.

1-At the end of the year, there must be maturity in our way of representation.

2- Sharper approach in analysis and increase in interactivity

India is moving rapidly in communication domain. Reliance and TataIndicom using backup of Qualcomm had done enough to make CDMA as one promising technology in India. But thanks to Bharti & BSNL that GSM is still ahead than CDMA. Here we are discussing GSM penetration and projections.

Obstacles in Innovation

There was a young boy, he was poor and used to work at a shop to support his family. Whenever he got opportunity to interact with so called enlightened people, he went to them and initiated discussion but everyone laughed at him. The sweet, innocent and emotional boy has no other work but to weep. It was difficult for him to believe what others were saying but it was also difficult for him to survive. God is great. One day he got a big blunder in a calculation of shop owner and his efforts saved the owner from losing a huge amount. He was recruited as Muneem in the shop and one day this muneem became a big mathematician.

What was that which made others to remain blind during discussions with the great Ramanujam? Why was he laughed at? People grow in age and start developing the thought of greatness for himself or ignoring new upcoming opportunity. This is one of the basic obstacles in the path of our success. The industry has seen black days due to few such obstacles in innovation.

It’s surprising that sometime we call innovation to those activities, which take place in boardrooms with tea and snacks. Innovation needs freedom, adoptability and sacrifice. Modern companies are nothing but trade houses. Money is flowing from one hand to other hand and the value addition due to the movement has become a cause of proud that economy is growing.

True growth needs innovation and that needs sacrifice first, a dream towards new sun-rise without any prejudice. There is nothing, which can replace fire, water or fresh air. So-called innovation led by boardroom has not created anything but polluted this beautiful world. It has not only polluted external world but also internal mindset. “The Headache Of The Year” section is asking us to think about something, which is real ingredient of innovation.

Can we make innovation to really happen? Can we stop converting a man into machine and a machine into man? Can we protect people like Ramanujam, Karad, Einstein or Galileo?

Let us pray for those who really transformed this world without asking for anything in return. A tribute to those whose world has been deformed.
