Last month was very critical for IT & Telecom world. BSNL found few serious frauds in billing with Reliance, which raises voice against incumbent as well as OSS/BSS vendors. Through this newsletter we request readers to think over the issue. 

We may question IT sector too as there may be serious gap between demand and supply quality of various billing software. Telecom operators may not be willing to spend required money on the same. But now Telecom operators need to rethink over the cost vs benefit of good system.

We are moving towards Data centric communication and such mistakes may be of higher order in that era. To monitor data traffic and control various frauds operators may need to have some serious investments in the critical systems.  

We met several professionals, friends during our recent tours and found that all are very much enthusiastic about Tecmac. Few wanted to join us whereas few wanted to be in our editorial team. Tecmac is thankful to all those who have warm support and willingness to contribute. Together we’ll definitely make the difference.

Headache Of The Year
From Stone age to Information age, Human civilization has finished a mega race. At every stage it was raw material i.e. Stone for Stone age, Iron for Iron age, Semiconductor for Electronics age, Information for Information age which changed the Civilization and gave birth to new Industry. A stone age person never thought for Iron, an Iron age person never imagined about Electronics and before few years we never expected that Internet may become such a big industry. But we request you to open your third eye and dream for future. What is going to be next material, which will change us and give birth to next industry???

In last Tecmac-Watch we wrote that grey voice will be new threat for NLD/ILD. After few days a different threat became visible as BSNL found that RIL has cheated it on long distance tariff. Though the whole matter was taken up quickly and companies which took months in rolling out their respective mobile services tried to settle the matter within days (which is still hot and in progress). We request you to think over the matter and write us with following reference points...

1-Is it going to be bigger threat in coming future?
2-Are BSNL & other operators ill prepared in handling interconnect and other billing issues?
3- If in voice centric(in which negotiation in call delays is possible)environment such frauds are of so big amount then what may happen in upcoming Data centric environment?
4-Was this fraud of same amount at which it got disclosed or the real volume was quite high?
