One more step towards new horizon, One more step towards flourishing future of Tecmac.

With this inaugural issue we are starting our Online Newsletter "Tecmac-Watch".  It was a courageous decision to start Tecmac and more difficult to go for online newsletter, therefore we accepted the punch line of the Newsletter as "Dream Undreamt".

Tecmac-Watch is not a conventional newsletter, it has been designed to be most preferred place for any innocent technocrat or new born self confident business maverick to put forward and share his inner voice. Tecmac was formed for Techno-Businesses with IT and Telecom as core but we are moving ahead to include Bio-Tech world as well.

Tecmac believes in networked, virtual world so that it's member can share his view and reach up to maximum possible professionals which have the best knowledge or practical information.

Our virtual workplace is underdevelopment and it is expected to be operational in Feb-05 where you may be able to chat, share views and build online reports.

We welcome all of you to share your views, advice for improvement and motivate in new direction. Tecmac-Watch is a place where you can write your views and share your ideas, we promise to put all those articles and comments on the Newsletter which come under our domain.

Now India says IT

IT industry was in nascent stage when it got first setback in late nineties. High flying stocks crashed and bloodbath started.

IT started with a dream of change in business world instead of with a dream to change the business process. People started dreaming that they can build billion dollar empire just by hosting one website.

We saw the result of such brave but groundless actions. Expectations of investors crashed and so IT industry. Neither IT industry was responsible for this nor investors. May we call that quick money makers with no patience were responsible for the same?

Since last year a new sun is rising for IT industry but this time not only investors understand industry in a better way but also IT Gurus have become more practical. Previously Indian IT industry was solely dependent on foreign expending, even today maximum business is from outside but first time business magazines are writing about inland IT spending. Growth in outside demand as well as inside demand both are growing with more than 20% growth rate which is more stable and healthy situation.

We see that IT is getting infused in other industries and moving on neck to neck across all horizontals as well as verticals inside the country. We hope that in-house spending on IT will continue to grow. But maturity in spending specially standardizing the product is still away specially in telecom domain where operators preferring to make in-house tools instead of buying standard as well as certified package. Banking sector has become mature enough. If small cooperative banks can purchase standard international package and allocate proper resources for IT then definitely our telecom industry can also move ahead. It is taking time because still the heat of competition is not so hot and still informal tools are working effectively. But when the subscriber base will cross the critical number then it may be extremely difficult to bear the situation and satisfy subscribers. Tie-up of Bharti with IBM may be a step in same direction.

Analog to Wi-Max

Analog wireless was first to write the history for mobile communication. Wireless industry has come long way from Analog to Wi-Max. Analog was one standard with few differences and now through Wi-Max again we may be moving towards all IP based systems.

AT&T has announced to come in wireless world through Data Only devices, through which one will be able to chat, browse but may not talk.
In this journey industry accumulated a lot of complexities and names, few new names have come under domain. But technically industry might be moving towards more simplicity. From simple one technology to simple one platform, long journey in short time......
 

New Crises "WCDMA vs 3GSM"

S. Korea, Europe, Asia and America all geographies have fought over GSM vs CDMA. Few countries preferred to be technology neutral and few opted for both whereas few used one as standard.

Resent ITU Asia meet ended with drama, played well by CDMA and GSM operators as well as vendors, it was war for name. More precisely it was war for four letters C,D,M and A.

I hope we are moving towards convergence, in a converged world we may have one common standard on which different technologies will work. Each and every existing technology will have to give path to other one and all are expected to welcome all but those who are earning through proprietary components are writing new acts to be played on almost all international platforms .
